Workshop Tuscany-Europe 2020: NEW FRONTIERS OF SILICON PHOTONICS
Thematic Workshop to take place on 1 February 2013 in Brussels
The Tuscany Region, CNIT - National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications, The Scuola Superiore S. Anna - TeCIP, Institute of Communication, Information & Perception Technologies ARE PLEASED TO INVITE YOU TO ATTEND THE WORKSHOP on 1 FEBRUARY 2013, Tuscany Region – Conference room, Round Point Schuman 14, Brussels
THEMATIC WORKSHOP Tuscany-Europe 2020: NEW FRONTIERS OF SILICON PHOTONICS The contribution from the Regional Research and Innovation Systems to Europe’s growth strategy
Photonics is one of the Key Enabling Technologies of the 21st Century and one of the strategic priorities of the Tuscany Region. Silicon Photonics in turn is a disrupting field rapidly growing in importance because for the first time this technology will permit production of integrated optics components in relevant volumes and will allow the convergence of photonics with electronics. This event is devoted to the presentation of new frontiers of silicon photonics and new relevant applications. The participation at the workshop of international highly renowned scientists from Japan, Europe, US intends to provide a contribution in term of ideas to the new research program, HORIZON 2020, and put the basis for collaborations and bridging among research centers, SME and semiconductor manufacturers.
