LiDAR has shown its great potential from the very first “Optical Echoes from the Moon” obtained in 1962. Nowadays this remote sensing technology is widely used to measure and investigate a huge amount of natural and man-made environments with both precision and flexibility: from Earth-sensing to topography, from atmospheric studies to biological and agricultural survey.
With the deployment of active safety systems ramping up in production vehicles, higher levels of autonomous driving are moving towards real-world deployments. Here, LiDAR is becoming a critical sensor for enabling autonomous vehicles by object classification, lane markings detection, and accurate vehicle positioning in a virtually reconstructed environment and maps.
This meeting will gather decision-makers and industrials along the value chain working in the fields of, among others, optical manufacturing, photonics packaging and integrated photonic circuits, semiconductor lasers and SPADs, fibre sensors. Technologies such as Flash LiDAR vs Scanning LiDAR and Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave LiDAR will be discussed with a real focus on creating business opportunities.
The main sessions of this meeting will cross-check needs and value propositions between carmakers, TIER-1 suppliers, and photonics companies towards the car of the future. A special session will be dedicated for the most advanced real-world applications of this incredibly versatile technology.
