Laser technologies are enabling the development of new tools in the medical sector related to fast diagnosis and process manufacturing.
In this TechWatch, the last developments in medical lasers will be presented together with the most exciting applications. Microestructuring of medical material
to provide it with anti-bacterial properties, new technologies for rapid identification of bacteria and biopsy-free differentiation of tumoral tissue from healthy one
will be in the focus of this session. Also, the European capabilities for manufacturing of large-volume optical modules for the medical industry will be discussed.
