AEP/NRC. The Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre (CPFC) provides world-class engineering and manufacturing services, commercial-grade prototyping and pilot-run production facilities. We can fabricate devices in a variety of materials including gallium arsenide (GaAs) and indium phosphide (InP), gallium nitride (GaN), and other substrates. We offer single-step foundry services or end-to-end fabrication of photonic devices, photonic integrated circuits and gallium nitride electronics. The CPFC can also develop new process technologies for our client’s devices. The Advanced Technology Fabrication (ATF) research facility, located within the CPFC, develops next-generation photonic and electronic components that are at low- to mid-technology readiness levels for a variety of applications: communication, security and sensing. The facility serves as a test-bed for the fabrication proof of concept of novel designs, through to the development of new technology platforms. Our experts add value by helping clients diagnose materials/fabrication-related problems using an extensive suite of test and measurement capabilities. Once a fabrication-related problem has been identified, we work with our clients to suggest corrective measures to remedy the problem. We can also assist clients by reworking wafers within our facilities and/or by engaging them in additional process development at the CPFC. To learn more, visit our website.

EXFO, headquartered in Quebec, develops smarter test, monitoring and analytics solutions for the global communications industry. We are trusted advisers to fixed and mobile network operators, hyperscalers and leaders in the manufacturing, development and research sector. Building on our 35 years of innovation, EXFO employees work in over 25 countries, side by side with our customers in the lab, field, data center and beyond. In optical communications testing, EXFO has 3 research & development centers worldwide: in the headquarter at Quebec (Canada), Lannion (France) and in Zhubei City (Taiwan). During this Tour, our team will present innovative solutions in passive components and PIC testing from design to packaging to final tests, through the visits of Quebec and Lannion R&D centers.

CMC Microsystems operates across Canada to support research and prototyping in microelectronics, MEMS, Quantum devices, Artificial Intelligence, and Optics/Photonics. This year CMC will facilitate the fabrication of over 100 silicon photonic devices at commercial foundries like Global Foundries in the USA and Advanced MicroFoundry in Singapore. We are also introducing new services with Applied NanoTools and Dream Photonics in Canada. Our Photonics support team will introduce themselves and take you through some of these exciting developments.

Spirit of the meeting

Canadian companies will be virtually showing around their facilities. Audience attending will be able to give instant questions.
