We are at the beginning of the Quantum revolution. At this moment it is hard to imagine how the development of quantum technologies will alter our daily lives in the next 10 years, but already as of today Quantum technologies are already a great market for the photonics companies which enable innovative solutions to satisfy the high demands of the R&D community. In the future we will have quantum cameras, quantum clocks, quantum communication networks secured by quantum key distribution, but today we do have a huge market push for cutting edge photonics technologies.
Some of these demands are, for example, affordable, small, high power lasers in 698.4, 780, 813 nm wavelength range; atom chips that enable laser cooling with a single laser beam; photonic integrated circuits that can have photon pair generation on chip or even enable a low cost quantum key distribution device of the size of your smallest fingernail.
