EPIC Meeting on AR/VR at Sony

18-19 October 2018

Stuttgart, Germany

Hosted by Sony

Sony

The EPIC Meeting on AR/VR at Sony aims to bring together the entire optical systems value chain to discuss current optical technological challenges and successes for Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). This is an emerging market where novel photonic approaches can offer advantages in performance, efficiency, size and cost reduction. Advances needed in AR/VR represent an opportunity for companies who offer core competencies in: photonic nanostructures, opto-electronic design and engineering (ie. camera field of view—aspheres will help to meet FOV needs while keeping cameras compact), diffractive optics, optical sensors (motion sensors—opportunities for IR and optical gyroscopes). The purpose of this event is to find B2B collaborations between suppliers, component and instrument designers and manufacturers and AR/VR system integrators.
