MIRPHAB (Mid InfraRed Photonics devices fabrication for chemical sensing and spectroscopic applications) is an all-services Pilot Line for the fabrication of Mid-Infrared sensors, a single access point to the best technology, facilities and expertise provided by a consortium of leading companies in the field of photonics. MIRPHAB will be an open technology platform with special focus on SMEs, providing services for device design and fabrication from chip processing on wafer level to packaging and testing as well as training services to customers. PIXAPP is the world’s first open-access Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Assembly and Packaging Pilot line, and helps users exploit the breakthrough advantages of PIC technologies. PIXAPP consists of a highly-interdisciplinary team of Europe’s leading industrial & research organisations, and provides users with single-point access to PIC assembly and packaging. The Pilot Line Gateway Office is PIXAPP’s the easy-access interface for external users, and is located at the Tyndall National Institute, in Ireland. PIXAPP bridges the ‘valley of death’ often associated with moving from prototyping to low-volume fabrication, by giving companies an easy-access route to transferring R&D results to the market. PIX4life offers early open-access to high performance photonic integrated circuit platforms for visible light applications. Specially targeting life-science applications, BioPIX and TripleX platforms aim at bridging the technological research advances towards industrial developments and products. Early open-access is now offered worldwide for prototyping through multiproject wafer runs. In this manner, the PIX4life consortium offers, through its members, all the services required to bring a concept to a product. InPulse is a Pilot Line for the manufacturing high-performance InP photonic integrated circuits (PIC), which provides a low entry barrier access to low and medium production volumes. InPulse democratizes access to industrial prototyping and pre-production of high-performance InP photonic integrated circuits (PIC). InPulse has the ambition to transform business practices from vertical integration – where design, fabrication and product development are all in-house and inaccessible to new entrants, to horizontal where fabless and lab less businesses share the same manufacturing infrastructure. InPulse provides a low entry barrier access to low and medium production volumes of InP PICs.
